COOL POETRY WEBSITES
Poetry 180 is the project of U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins. The number 180 equates to the average number of school days per year. Collins selected the poems to be accessible to students and intended them to be shared, one per day, preferably in a whole-school setting "without any academic requirements." The Poetry Foundation, offered by the publisher of Poetry magazine, has a wide array of resources for teachers and students, including lesson plans and activities, articles on poetry, audio recordings, podcasts, and videos of poets reading and talking about their work. You should also check out their awesome app. The Poetry Archive is a project of Andrew Motion, the 1999 U.K. Poet Laureate, to bring audio recordings of poets reading their work. It includes an impressive collection of lesson plans for teachers and resources for students, including links to poetry websites, interviews with poets, and filmed recordings of poets reading their work.
